Salisbury Amateur Operatic Society has existed in Salisbury for over 100 years. In the autumn of 2011, we changed our name to Musical Theatre Salisbury, the better to reflect our major activity, which is to produce two fully-staged and costumed musical shows per year in Salisbury. These are mainly staged in the 600+ seat City Hall - Wiltshire's largest venue. Our repertoire varies widely, from classic Broadway shows to contemporary musicals, as well as the much-loved Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Our performance dates are usually in May for the spring show, and early December for the winter show.

We meet in The Salisbury (Castle Street) Social Club, Scots Lane, Salisbury. Regular weekly rehearsals are held there on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 10:00pm. Principals' rehearsals are also held on Tuesdays. (Rehearsals of course become more frequent nearer a show week.)

Our amateur performers are of all ages and levels of experience: some with many years in music theatre, and some who are newcomers to the stage. Musical and stage direction, and choreography, are in the hands of professionals.

We have our own large store of scenery and costumes, which are available for hire byother companies when we are not using them. Please enquire about these via our Contacts page.

Welcome to this website, which contains an archive of over 1200 photos of shows from past years, and press reviews of many of them.
